Email marketing has an amazing average expected ROI of $42 for every $1 you spend on email marketing. This means, if you spend $1 on email marketing, you will generate about $42 sales. Moreover, Marketing Week reports that email generates around £29 billion retail sales annually.
This makes email marketing one of the most efficient marketing techniques. And most business are taking advantage of this method of marketing; actually, 81% of small to medium sized businesses (SMEs) use email marketing as their primary customer acquisition channel, and 80% for retention. However, email marketing doesn't mean just sending emails to people. No, there is an art as to how it's done and there are a lot of aspects and things to consider when running email campaigns. These include:
Catchy subject lines- You need catchy subject lines so that your recipients open your email.
Personalisation- You should personalise, make every email to every recipient personal, for example, address them by their names: "Hi Innocential,..."
Content structure- There are certain structures that cause email campaigns to fail. For, example, emails full of big images might not appear well on mobile phones.
Avoiding SPAM- If your emails go to the SPAM folder, you won't reap the benefits of email campaigns because users rarely open the SPAM folder. There are a number of things to do to avoid emails going to SPAM folder, one of which is adding business' name and physical location on the emails.
Therefore, if you haven't been doing email campaigns, it's now time to get started; if you had already started, it's time to ace it up. If you need any help, Holycity freelancers is always here for you!
